About baby this week: This is an impressive week for growth! our baby weighs approximately(10-11)ounces and is about or 7-8 inches long.
If we are having a girl, her ovaries now contain primitive egg cells. Lanugo appears all over the baby's body. This fine hair will remain until birth draws nearer. Sometimes you can still see some on the baby's face and ears after birth. Also apparent is vernix, a milky white covering that protects our baby's skin from an aquatic environment. This is a crucial time for sensory development: our baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. The placenta continues to grow and offer nourishment for our baby while the permanent teeth buds are forming behind the already formed milk teeth buds. Growth becomes rapid now and our baby begins to store iron for the production of red blood cells. Our baby is even having dreams of his own while sleeping (REM sleep)!
About Mommy this week: I am still feeling really good. Other than the fact that I am definitely getting fat. The news is definitely apparent now which I guess is good, I have passed that "is she pregnant or is she just fat mark" and now it is apparent that I am pregnant and everyone at stores, school, wherever wants to talk about it. I will take pictures soon I promise!! As for healthwise I have no nausea and the headaches are completely gone. I still have occasional heartburn but not as bad as before. I have started to get leg cramps which are annoying because they wake me up in the middle of the night. I have days of pretty bad back pain but my doctor said I should expect this since pregnancy alone causes back pain and my back isn't as strong as most because of the scoliosis sooo this will probably be something I deal with until I deliver. Other than that I am feeling good.
In other news it is finally cold here, it is in the 50's but still sunny!! It makes me very happy. 9 more days until we find out the sex of the baby!!!! I can't wait!!

glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. as for your leg cramps, i have them too, always have. i take a homeopathic med called "restful legs" it is made by "hylands". i buy it at walgreens and i think walmart carries it. check with your doctor and see if you can take it.
can't wait till next monday to find out if baby moltz is a boy or a girl.
love you both
