Saturday my mom and I met in grapevine to do all the fun christmas stuff they have going on in downtown. They are having a main street festival complete with characters, the polar express, big trees, free kettle corn and carriage rides, lots of lights, etc. We met at california pizza kitchen (our favorite restaurant) and had lunch before heading over to downtown together (in my car). Now let me back up for a second. Aiden had professional pictures taken with this really great looking santa over a month ago. He is very old timey looking and the pictures are ADORABLE! We ordered the pictures and mom brought me the pictures on saturday. She gave them to me at lunch. She had also brought over some clothes she got for Aiden. We were leaving and putting the clothes, the pictures, the stroller, the diaper bag, our coats, and Aiden into my car. Somehow I left the little black box with the santa pictures in it on top of my car.
Now we went to main street grapevine and had a great day stolling, shopping, eating the free kettle corn, seeing the sites. All of it. It was a very girly fun and festive outing and Aiden was the perfect little boy. As always! We had a great day and we went back to california pizza kitchen to drop mom off at her car. Before she left I wanted to make sure she had everything she was supposed to have and I had everything I was supposed to have. So I went checking and realized I did not have the pictures!!!! We back tracked through our motions and realized the only possible answer was that they somehow got left on top of my car. I started searching the parking lot, the bushes, everywhere and then realized (after a little experiment) that they wouldn't have fallen off right away. The would have fallen off once I turned onto the main street which by the way is basically a 6 lane highway! So in the complete darkness I searched up and down the street for 2 hours while mom sat in her car trying to keep Aiden happy and shining her headlights into the ditches for me. After all the searching I found the box the pictures had been in, one 8x10, and one wallet size. That's it! Out of all the pictures we ordered that's all I could find AND even those were not in good shape. The 8x10 had obviously been run over. Needless to say I basically just fell apart. I cried all the way home. I was literally sick to my stomach and have been completely depressed and SICK about it the past two days. I feel like I am mourning a death. It has been the weekend so there has been nothing I could do about it. Hopefully in the next couple of days we can figure something out. Possibly work something out with the photographer. I don't know. I am praying that I will at least be able to get a few more if only just to keep for Aiden. If you are a family member reading this....you were going to get some of these pictures....now it's not looking good for anyone! I am getting depressed again just writing this so I am gonna stop. That's my story. Now here's some pictures we took in Grapevine before my world was turned upside down.

I am so sorry that you lost the pictures, don't let it get to you. Things will work out. And we have tons of beautiful pics of Aiden. Hopefully you can get copies from the photographer.
Is that the outfit I got Aiden before he was born? He looks so adorable. Looks like your mom and you had a nice day. Beautiful weather.
Miss you all so much.
WOW!! Aiden REALLY looks like Ben in that first picture!!! He favors him more in that picture than I have ever seen.
Don't worry about the pics. It's going to work out.
Don't be so hard on yourself. These things happen. I once left a caserole dish on top of my car. Needless to say, soon there was no dish and no casserole. Sad because it was for a sick friend who was waiting for her dinner. Get one picture for yourself. Maybe the photographer has the pictures online and we could all buy our own. Like Mary Ellen said, you have given us many adorable pictures. We will survive.
Love you,
GK
Oh no! I wouls be sick too! I'm with Grandma Karen...I bet you can get more. But I know it must be frustrating!
We went to Main Street in Grapevine too. It is way fun!
Yeah.....it is very sad. The pictures were adorable.
Too bad we don't have any good ones of Aiden. :-)
I love the picture of him with the towel over his head. I was at dinner tonight with some friends who told me how their daughter had each year of their blog bound in a book and how neat it is to look back on.
He was the best thing all day long.
I know it really stinks to lose the pictures, but I totally understand how you feel. My computer crashed this time last year with all of our wedding pictures and EVERYTHING on it... luckily I had picture uploaded online in different places and I've come to decide that something is definitely better than nothing! I'm sure you have PLENTY of wonderful pictures to look back on. :) It could always be worse, so be thankful for what you have. :)
Sorry to hear about your day! I already have my pic of Aiden with the old time Santa sitting right here next to me. I bet you could scan it and print from there? Sounds like a job for Kim?
Sorry to hear about the pictures. I still love seeing the ones you have on the blog! Hope to see you guys soon. I'm needing Christmas suggestions for Aiden.
Jenni,
That sucks about your pictures. I read the post where Jarod said he had one that you could scan. Ryan has a really nice photo quality scanner at his office. If you need me to scan the picture Jarod has and burn a cd for you just let me know. I would be happy to do it for you. I know how bummed you must be.
