We are in the midst of a winter storm here in Texas and are going on day 2 of being iced in. Crazy!!! Supposedly this is the coldest it's been here in 15 years? With temps in the single digits. Absolutely nuts.
Everything in north texas seems to have come to a complete halt. Everything's closed, everything's cancelled. It's not SNOW, we had much more snow last february, it's ice. The city seems to just be covered in thick ice that isn't melting cause the temps are staying in the teens. At least that's what these media people are saying. We wouldn't know first hand since we're pretty much staying in. Except for venturing into our back yard...
Aiden going out to see the "snow" again our back yard is more like an ice skating rink. This is hard ice that he's walking on.
Just cause the backyard is iced over, doesn't mean you can skimp on your yard maintenance...
We made a little sled and pushed aiden around on the ice.
Wee that's fun!!
And we tried to make snow balls (since making a snow man was out of the question) but even that didn't really work
Happy boy
And of course the picture we LOVE to take in our backyard!
We haven't really spent that long outside, it is COLD!!! Definitely the coldest I think I've ever experienced in Texas.
Now for my update, I'm really bummed that this winter storm came now. I was supposed to have my baby Dr. appt and sonogram yesterday and it of course got cancelled. My OB called and said the offices were staying closed but that we'd try to get me rescheduled for later in the week. Now again today, the offices are closed. If it doesn't melt by tomorrow I'm thinking the offices will be closed again?? So it's not looking good for me getting seen this week which bums me out. I was looking forward to seeing how big Hallie is and whether I've started to progress towards delivery... So I'm not a fan that now I don't know when I'll get seen? Plus it's weighing in the back of my head that this FRIDAY marks 37 weeks. I had aiden at 37 weeks to the day. I'm fairly positive that it won't be the same with hallie, nothing about my pregnancy has been, but I can't stop thinking about that.
Everyone (that has seen me during both pregnancies) keeps saying I'm smaller this time. I beg to differ. In fact I've started to look and feel so HUGE that I had ben take my profile picture at 36 weeks. I was thinking I had the same week picture with aiden but I didn't, I only have 35 but go ahead and take a gander...35 weeks with aiden, 36 weeks with hallie. I'm every bit as huge. Maybe even more huge???
I do however have a 37 week picture with aiden (turning out to be the day he came) so I will take my 37 week pic on friday so we can compare side by side but yep cue the carnival music, the fat lady is here!!!

I know you are ready for Hallie;but please, please wait till all this ice melts. I have had two dreams where I couldn't get to your house or the hospital!
wish every gal looked as good as you do at 36 weeks!!!
You make sure that YOU stay OFF of this ice!! Take pictures from the doorway or not at all. We don't want any freak accidents this late in the game. :-)
You look smaller to me....sorry to disagree with you.
Don't worry, you'll get your sonogram on Friday and then Sunday, while you're at my house and go into labor....I don't really have an end to that sentence I want to just document again that I called Sunday as d-day. :)
And we have absolutely no plan to leave the house in the next 48 hours, feel free to bring Aiden over here to play whenever your appointment gets rescheduled. Because you know, your dr's office doesn't allow kids. ;)
I'm thinking this would be a good time to talk him into wearing his Orange "Aiden" hat. Then he would have a hat like Daddy. :-)
It's amazing how you are all baby this time around. You just look amazing..
You are, as usual, gorgeous! Please keep your legs crossed till after the ice melts! We are snowed/iced in here and wouldn't be able to make it there any time soon. Can't wait to see the 37 week pics! Just relax (easier said than done, I know), she'll be here before you know it!
