15 week update

what's happening with baby this week: our baby's skin is very thin and you can see the blood vessels clearly underneath. The scalp hair pattern is developing while fine hair called lanugo covers our baby's body At around 5 inches long, our baby now weighs about 3 1/2 ounces. He/she is busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, which will help develop the air sacs in the lungs. The baby's legs are growing longer than his/her arms now, and now can move all his/her joints and limbs. That means the baby's hands are more functional, too. Sweat glands are appearing, and although the eyelids are fused shut, the baby can sense light. There's not much for our baby to taste at this point, but his/her taste buds are beginning to form. And we are about to go into the time where the baby's sex will be evident on an ultrasound. They start doing ultrasounds to determine sex at 16 weeks so between 16 and 20 we will have an ultrasound and know what we're having!!! I don't go for my next appointment until next wednesday the 24th so we will set it up then!

what's happening with mommy this week: Iam feeling soooo much better!! My nausea is almost completely gone and I only have headaches occasionally which is so much better than before! I am really busy with my job and school right now so it is such a blessing that I am feeling better. Also it is finally getting cool here, it's in the 60's at night and the humidity has dropped off a bunch so I am very happy about that!! It might actually start to feel like fall soon. So to make it short I am having a good week!!

I'm so glad you are feeling a little better. It's amazing how much better your week goes when you aren't in pain and throwing up.
I just looked at a picture of a 15 week fetus. Soooo cute! Can't wait to hear how the next ultrasound goes.

Love you both!
