Trials

So our week has been hectic, emotional, painful, difficult. Aiden had surgery on monday morning. I am not going to go into the details on this blog but there was a little complication with the procedure and he ended up having 2 surgeries and it ended up being a VERY long day for ben and I. Since then we have been "hunkered" down just trying to make it from minute to minute. Mamaw has been an incredibly help to me. Ben obviously had to return to work so mamaw stayed with me, helped me get aiden back to the dr. for his follow up the day after surgery has helped me with all the things that required 2 people and most of all just kept me grounded. I am very thankful!

Yesterday after returning from the follow up with the Dr. we returned to find our house had no cable, no internet, and no power. We have been losing power periodically ebcause of all this construction they are doing in our neighborhood but cable and internet??? Not to mention ALL the season finale's seem to be taking place right now! So we went and spent the night with mamaw on tuesday night and yesterday when aiden woke up in enormous pain I brought him home around 7 am. Yesterday was one of the harder days for me personally because I was having to do everything on my own and that was difficult. Aiden would cry, I would cry. Today is better. I think we might be starting to turn the corner on the pain front and that is a huge blessing. Watching my little boy be in pain has just been heartbreaking for me. I hate feeling so incredibly powerless to help him. But let's stay positive...today has been better. I am hoping/ praying that tomorrow is going to be the day where we all get back on a normal schedule. Myself included because I am exhausted.

This weekend is memorial day weekend and ben is going to have sunday and monday off so I hope aiden will be ready to do something fun and that the weather is nice. We bought aiden a little blow up baby pool. Best $9 ever spent! We haven't put water or anything in it yet but ben did blow it up and aiden just loves rolling it around, getting in and out of it. Yes we have crossed over into a whole new realm of "white trash" with having a blow up baby pool in our living room but I'm ok with it. Makes him happy! Maybe this weekend we will actually get the chance to put some water in it and play with it outside!

So sorry for the lack of posting and lack of pictures. Like I said, hopefully we are about to get back to some resemblance of normal.

Glad to hear that you all might be "turning the corner". It is very hard to see your child in pain, you and Ben are doing great. Thank goodness for Mamaw, I am very thankful she was there to help.

Hope you get to have a relaxing weekend.

love you all

I am so glad to hear that things are going better. Eloise and I have felt so sorry for Aiden and you. Thank God for GRANDMOTHERS. It is so nice to have them around to help when you really need them. I have been worring about Aiden. I was going to call last evening, but I realized that I did not have your phone numbers. Glad he is having fun with the new pool. Be sure he is healed enough to use it before you let him in the water. If he is not well healed he could get an infection. God bless you. Keep up the good work and the good reporting. Everytime I read one of your blogs, it reminds me of your report on our trip to Washington DC when you were 6.
I love you,
PaPaw Charley

Well, I am very happy that he is over the hump. What an ordeal that had to have been.

I see lots of cute pictures and video coming from that little pool. :-)

Just as a reminder your parents and mamaw both have pools within 30 min. I also think there is about to be a 3rd...Dale, arent you building a pool?

Hey, don't knock the white trash blow up pool...we've had several. Just wait till he decides to use the grass as a toilet...lots of laughs!!!

But I have to agree with Charley, make sure about the water in the pool before you let him enjoy. You sure don't want to complicate anything and those pools aren't the cleanest. Although, by now, he might be just fine.

You will have to go with us sometime to Hawaiian Falls this summer! We have season passes and I love that place, because it's shallow water most everywhere. The deepest is the wave pool-5 or 6 feet deep. And, we can get you in for super cheap...or even free!!
