Last friday we (mamaw, ben, and I) took aiden to see the Radio City Rockette's christmas spectacular that was in grand prairie. It had come on TV a few weeks back and aiden seemed to really like it. Lots of girls, dancing, and singing! All the things aiden loves! So we went out on a limb and bought tickets to the show hoping that he would enjoy it and be good during it. We sat close enough that we thought he would be able to see everything. So all day on friday I charged my camera for the show that was at 4:30pm. We headed to the theater and after parking got there just in time and then I realized.....I left the battery in the charger! I had my camera but NO battery! Total bummer! However; the signs outside the show did say "NO cameras allowed anyways" Not that I would have paid much attention to that but still...so I have no pictures of aiden at the rockette's show BUT he did do VERY WELL! He was really into the first few acts and watched very intently. The rest of the time he wasn't as mesmerized but interested enough to sit still and watch for an hour and 45 minutes! Something he has never ever done before! So I think it was a HUGE success. He only had to be taken out at the very last act, which was the nativity and of course there was no singing, dancing, or loud costumes to look at so I think that's pretty understandable. Out of a 12 act show for a very active 21 month old to make it through 11 acts...huge accomplishment!
Also friday evening aiden again got to open a christmas present from his great grandparents who he won't get to see this christmas. The box said "let aiden open before christmas!" so we sat him in front of the tree and tried to get some pictures of him opening two little gifts from great grandpa "papa" joe and grandma kathy. They were little sock monkey hat and gloves and a jack in the box sock monkey! SO cute! Here are the pictures I took of that...still very bummed about no pics of the rockette's show! We will just have to go again next year! :)
Thank you so much papa joe and grandma kathy! The gifts are precious and aiden loves playing with the jack in the box and the hat and gloves will be great on our trip to santa fe!!!
