I am now ready to blog about our amazing family trip to south padre island (complete with pictures!!!) Yay! Our week long stint in south padre is always a good time but it was especially wonderful for me and ben this year because of aiden. It was SUCH a different experience than last year when he got sick and really wasn't a fan of the beach or the ocean. This year he LOVED it! He loved going out into the water and playing with his cousins on the beach. He didn't love walking on the sandy beach or getting his feet dirty (part of his OCD tendencies) so getting out there was always a little bit of an adventure but once he got there he would love it! Aiden also did great at nap time and night time. He slept on a little toddler air mattress I had borrowed from a friend and it worked wonders! So all in all this year was much more enjoyable and relaxing than the last 2 for ben and I. The first year aiden went he was 4 months old and was a slave to his schedule, Last year he was a year and 4 months and got sick and HATED it, this year was PERFECT!
Just a few things I want to remember about aiden and this trip are...
--Aiden has always and still does call my brother Jarod, DOING! Not sure why, that's how he hears it in his head but it's hilarious at 8am when he walks into my bro and sis in laws room and yells "DOING WHAT YA DOING?!?!"
--Aiden calls both his uncles "SPOON" right now. They have only themselves to blame for this because aiden went through a period of being obsesed with spoons and they have never stopped yelling or singing "spoon" at him whenever they see him so now...aiden calls them SPOON.
--Aiden called my cousin Tiffany "weeny" the whole week and was also very much infatuated by her. He would yell for "weeny" at the top of his lungs and demand to be near her.
--Aiden is completely enamored with his grandparents. When gigi, poppy, and mamaw are around mommy and daddy do not exist and frequently get told to "go away".
--Aiden loved the "pow pow" fireworks at the beach.
--Aiden would make everyone wear their shoes at all times in the condo.

We had such a FABULOUS trip. In case you couldn't tell. Thank you mamaw for the 30th year at padre, one of the best. I love our family!

NIIIIIIICE!! You did a splendid job of taking pictures. This years "round table" picture is the best yet. Somebody got smart and got up high to take this one. You can see everyone.
GREAT pictures and recapping of your week. My favorite picture without Aiden is the one of Jenni on Ben's back with the July 4th headband. That is amazing!! Of course, I like them all, but that's AWESOME. I LOVE that you all do the specific color shirts for boys/girls/and Mamaw.
