We're BAAAAAAAAACK!!!

We've actually been back from our vacation for 3 days now but coming back from padre with my family is like re-entering real life. It's hard to adjust after 8 days of non reality. I had to stop sleeping midday, lounging on the beach, playing cards till all hours of the night, eating 17 times a day, reading a book for pleasure (gasp!), going out to dinner every night, if I want breakfast I have to make it myself, I can't neglect the cleaning and laundry cause "hey we're on vacation!", we can't let aiden stay up till 11 or 12 in the hopes that he'll sleep later in the morning. In all reality...well reality kinda stinks when you compare!! So all of that was to say, I haven't quite gotten back into the swing of things yet, but I'm getting close! I have unpacked my suitcase and put all the laundry away. HUGE step. We're getting back to our normal schedule and ways of doing things. I think aiden has only asked for candy about 5 times today. HUGE improvement. He's also stopped expecting all of his family to be here when he wakes up and to be at his beck and call but this is going to be shocking...he does seem more spoiled than ever! It's tough coming back to reality buddy, I'm right there with him! So anyways I will have a big padre post soon with lots and lots of pictures to commemorate the trip but it's going to be a few more days before I get them all from the various photographers on the trip.

Today however, I took aiden to his 2 yr check up and I got some interesting/ exciting information. For one aiden is HUGE! I mean I knew he was big for his age cause we hang out with other 2 year olds, I know he's bigger but I didn't realize just how big he is. He is off the 2 yr old charts, meaning apparently he is taller than 100 percent off all other 2 year olds. He is in the 72nd percentile for 3 yr olds, meaning he is taller than 71 percent of 3 year olds and he is in the 51st percentile for 4 year olds so basically he would be an average sized 4 year old! That information blew. my. mind! Like I said, I knew he was big, people often think he is at least 3 but jeepers creepers! Anyways he is 41 inches tall or 3.5 feet and then she gave me the shocking statistic that on average your fully grown height is about double your height at 2 years old. That would make him 7 feet tall when he's grown. I'm gonna put my money on that she is wrong. But even better than that...

The dr. was shocked by how well he can talk! YAY!!!!! As many of you know I worried for the longest time about aiden talking (I don't anymore!) and he has just exploded with speech. The dr. walked into the room and aiden points at himself and tells her his whole name and then proceeds to introduce me and say"mommy sit there" "daddy at work" "gigi at home" (we had already gone over where everyone was on the car ride to the dr's office) She was very impressed by his verbal and ability to understand and follow instructions. I was proud of him.

So that's it for now I will leave you with one picture of aiden from the beach ....do you think he liked it?!?!

Nope he L-O-V-E-D it!!!

Gigi is having Aiden withdrawals!

I still can't get over how easy it was to go on vacation with him. I remember well it being a lot of work when the kids were little and I remember dinner time being a challenge for adults to get to eat.

I don't think we ever had to get up and go out with him. He was a doll.

Love that boy!

Jennifer, I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with Aiden at Padre. He is very special, and you and Ben are doing a great job raising him.

I cannot tell you how much I love the way you write about things. You have a way of bringing everything to life. I was rolling on the floor laughing at the part about Aiden's Dr.appt., just trying to picture him at 7ft tall and picturing your face when the dr. told you that.

Glad you all had a great time. Can't wait for more pictures. GK
