Hallie 18 Months

Precious Hallie is now 18 mos. old. Can't believe how fast it's gone. At her 18 mos. appt. she weighed 26 lbs and was in the 83rd percentile for her age and she was 33.75 inches tall and was in the 96th percentile for her height! I was a bit surprised by those numbers cause I never think of Miss priss as being big for her age the way aiden was but here again we have us a tall girl!!

Hallie gets a bit more precious every day. Her smile, laugh and little personality are infectious. She is definitely still the little princess and she knows it. She doesn't like to share attention. Hallie & Aiden have started "playing" together much more these days which I love to see. Aiden is for the most part very sweet with hallie and tries his best to "take care of her". Hallie doesn't like to be treated like a baby and wants to be doing what everyone else is getting to do. She is my NO FEAR child. She's into everything, eats everything, plays with everything. She's just a little tornado.

Hallie still doesn't talk very much and me & the Dr. spent quite a bit of time talking about her verbal skills. Right now she has about 6 words which she says consistently and I know she really knows the meaning of. The Dr. would really prefer she have between 10-18 by this point and 40 by the time she is 2. Sheesh!!! That seems like she has a long way to go. I'm not real sure if the Dr. was worried, he said we would re-visit the conversation when she's 2. However; I'm not worried. Hallie not using words but using expressions, actions, and sounds to communicate what she wants is very in line with her personality. Plus it's not like she doesn't communicate with us, oh boy does she, she is VERY adept at getting people to see exactly what it is she wants or needs without needing the words to do it. Obviously as her parents we are going to be working with her more on her language but again, I'm not worried. I know my girl :)

My aunt & I took the kids to FW botantical garden to try and get a few pics of hallie for 18 mos. Of course we chose a day when hallie was sick and very much not herself so while we got "sweet hallie" pics, we didn't get the normal huge "cheese face" hallie shots. Oh well. There will be many more pictures to come in her future and I love several of these!

Yep this summed up how she was really feeling!! I think she's communicating it quite well...

Love this. This is going in a frame for sure!

Beautiful girl, we love you sooooooo sooooooo much!

She sure looks like Aiden in the 2nd picture! She is just fine in the communication skills. No need to worry! She's at such a fun, expressive age!!!
GREAT job, mom and dad!!!
