A couple weekends back we had the opportunity to go to the lake and we took a couple from ben's work with us. We stopped and took the bluebonnet pics (from previous post) on the way to the lake and then had a relaxing afternoon while the babies napped at the house and we waited for our guests to arrive.
Aiden & daddy did some "fishing" from the deck.
I'm not real sure this counts as fishing since half the time the line wasn't even in the water and there was no hook or anything but aiden sure did enjoy it.
Ben too. Big goofball!
Aiden's 2nd favorite activity at the lake. Sitting in the boat, life jacket on, ready for action. Doesn't matter that we weren't even thinking of taking the boat out yet. Half the fun is just being ON the boat.
Our guests arrived in time to go back to the bluebonnets with us, for our 2nd attempt. This is dustin and elisa. Dustin works for ben at the store.
This was the weekend of Charley's 1st boat ride. I was a little bit nervous about it since he's not a huge fan of the sun or the wind in his sensitive eyes but he did great on the boat ride.
Hallie's excited. With her new favorite toy- a water bottle.
Aiden had been ready for hours.
I was very grateful for extra sets of hands on the boat. Having 3 little ones when ben is driving the boat proved to be a bit difficult. It's amazing that hallie will keep other people's sunglasses on her face but never her own.
Aiden being the co-captain.
Dustin & elisa keeping charley warm and in the shade. Big help.
My 2 lil adventurers preferred to stay up front, enjoying the wind.
As long as she had her water bottle, she was happy as a lark. Try to take it away and you'd get a show!!!
Charley sitting in the boat when we were back at the dock. I like this picture.
Dustin wanted to try out the canoe. Crazy. It was way too cold and choppy for canoe riding.
Aiden really enjoys throwing rocks at bigger rocks. Must be a boy thing I don't get. This is the only place he gets to do that though and dustin was a sport and participated in rock throwing with him.
Hallie & daddy looking cool with their sunglasses
Cool dudes!!
More "fishing". Shockingly enough we never caught anything.
Hallie steering the jet ski. It was parked. Without keys in it. but she enjoyed it all the same.
These wild & crazy kids. I have no idea how cold that water was and I was not at all interested in finding out. I just took the pictures of the crazies who decided to go for a swim.
The "swim" actually turned into "hop in but then see how fast yopu can get out!"
They're cute. But silly.
We had a really fun relaxing weekend. It was nice to get out of town for a little bit, even if it was a short weekend and we enjoyed getting to know some of the people who work for ben a little bit better outside of work. Aiden calls dustin his best friend now and asks constantly when he'll come over to play again. We'll have to see if he's available for regular playdates :)

Love all the pictures, but especially love the one of Charley sitting in front of the flag! Such a cutie.
Well, I agree with Van. That picture in front of the flag is definitely a keeper. Glad yall got to get away with friends and enjoy a relaxing weekend.
