ONE year

Aiden had his one year check up today. Everything is fine. He is a growing, healthy, and active little boy. I already knew all of that. He is 31 and a half inches tall, which is 90th percentile for his age. He weighs 23lbs and 12 oz. which is 50th percentile. So he seems to be doing good. The doctor gave me a little advice on now switching him from formula to whole milk which I think will be somewhat difficult but we're gonna work on it. She gave me some advice on table food. I have written before that he doesn't really like anything that's not crunchy. Anything that is soft he will basically suck on until there is nothing left and then spit it out. But the doctor gave me a lot of reassurance about that. Basically he is fine and don't worry about it! So that's what I'm gonna do. She did ask about his little runny nose which I honestly don't think much about because it comes and goes so often and he's not sick, but I told her how I think he may have allergies because his daddy has real bad allergies and aiden will sneeze and have a runny nose off and on. She told me to start giving him benadryl and see if it makes a difference. The side effects she warned me are that he might sleep a little longer and he might be a little subdued at first. He might just want to sit with me instead of run around, etc. but not to worry that that's normal. I must be a horrible person because I thought to myself...and these are the BAD side effects??? I'm sorry but that sounds lovely. I will go get this benadryl immediately. I'm just kidding, but not really...I just got back from the store.
Anyways after our very busy and eventful weekend we haven't done a whole lot. I took aiden up to ben's work yesterday so that we could have lunch together on his birthday. I have two pictures to share. This one is something I hope I can do every year because I think it's kind of neat. Aiden was born at 4:35pm EST on march 16th 2008 so here is his picture at 3:35pm CST on march 16th, 2009.
And with mommy....

Ben wasn't home so he didn't get his birth minute picture taken with Aiden. Maybe next year. Now lastly here is a picture of Aiden LOVING the gift Gigi and Poppy gave him for his birthday. We're not real sure what it is so don't ask. It's like a dinosaur with a whole bunch of balls stuck inside and....that's about all I know, but he loves to sit in the balls and throw them all out. It's a great game for us all!

What a difference a year (and a baby) can make in so many lives.

I love the picture idea of the minute he was born. Keep that up.

Just to warn you about the Benadryl...make sure you get the DYE-FREE. I gave the original to Brandi as a baby, and OMG!!!! She was hyped up for hours!!!! Glad all is going well and I LOVE to see the pictures! Good job.
