Our 8th annual pumpkin tradition was done just a weee bit differently this year. To see last year & the years before you can click through, if by some chance you have missed our family tradition for the past 8 years! :)
Ok so this year...I knew Charley was going to make his debut in late October (NOT!!!) so we picked out pumpkins early. Pretty much as soon as our local farmers market got pumpkins, we went and picked them out. (This turned out to be the day before Charley made his early debut). The PLAN was to paint the pumpkins this year and paint them like ghosts in honor of our "baby boo". When you carve pumpkins they are only good for a few days after that, so I thought painting them like ghosts would serve several purposes and they would last all of October while letting us do them early, they would honor baby boo, and also aiden would be able to help more with painting then he's able to with carving. I liked the plan. However; it didn't turn out that way...
As it turned out the pumpkins sat on our porch untouched for all of October and then this past weekend, a couple of days before halloween, we finally got around to painting them.
Here we go for our 8th annual extravaganza...for the 1st time as a family of 5...
Princess Candy Corn. She added a lot to the group in the way of cuteness. Not so much on the helpful!
I love this pic of Hallie with her daddy!
Aiden painting the pumpkins! He was a BIG help & loved doing it!
Aiden chose what all the faces would be and we drew the outlines in sharpie but let aiden paint them in. He did a great job!
These pics just crack me up!!! Trying to get a picture of all 3 of them.

And same as in years past. We used this night to make special halloween treats.
We made halloween brownie bites & pumpkin spice cream cheese cupcakes.
We made lots of cupcakes for daddy to take to work the next day & for aiden to take to his teachers, as well as some for us!
We made caramel apples for Aiden to give out to his friends the following day at school for the fall/ halloween party.
It was a super fun & crazy night. A little bit different this year but still a special family tradition that I love every year!!!

Love these pictures. Aiden hasn't really changed that much since last year but Miss Priss definitely has.
Love the picture of the boys even though Charley looks scared to death.
And the picture of Ben and Hallie is precious!!
Such CUTE pictures!! Love Baby Boos' little socks and Hallie's little ruffle butt!! You actually got a cute one of all three. And oh yeah! Painting Pumpkins is a very good idea.
Laughed out loud at the picture of the 3 kids where Hallie looks like she's telling Aiden, "just drop him, he'll bounce". And Charley is looking like, "uh oh! I'm in BIG trouble here". Aiden looks to be thinking "I might get in trouble....or not".
GREAT pictures and WONDERFUL tradition for you all!!!!!
