Swim Lessons

One of the first things we were able to cross over our list of "summer fun" was getting Aiden into swim lessons. He had a week of INTENSE swim lessons with a teacher friend of my mom's. They were semi private, meaning it was only aiden and one other little girl the whole week. I was veryyyyyy nervous about this since aiden has been quite fearful of the water and swimming this summer. I wasn't real sure what we could expect but after the first day of lots of crying and carrying on, he did very well!!!! His teacher constantly reassured me that he HAS the strength and ability to SWIM, it's his fear that holds him back. By the en of the week he was doing much better with that also. I'm hoping he'll continue to get more and more comfortable as we try to swim as much as possible this summer. I know I definitely feel much more comfortable having him around water after the lessons. I feel confident that he CAN swim if he needs to, he can hold his breath, and plop him down in the middle of a pool and he'll be able to make it to a step! Now if we could just get him to ENJOY it, we'd have it made!!!!

WOW!! I am so impressed. Sure wish someone would have taught me how to swim when I was three years old.
