Well yesterday I got all my documentation from my advisor and I will indeed be graduating!!! YAY!!! This doesn't surprise me, I knew I was but it just feels so wonderful to have it confirmed for me AND I now have my graduation invitations which I will be sending out promptly!
My life is so different than it was when I started college, so much has changed, so much has happened, I feel like I have been through many different lifetimes to finally FINALLY be coming out the other end of this "college journey". To point out a few of these things to you....
It has taken me 6 years, 4 college majors, countless college minors, and 3 different universities to be graduating with my 180 hour bachelor of science degree in Business Administration, concentration on marketing and 2 minors in health science and religious studies (this is what my state university calls all the Bible classes I took!!!)
However; those are just the numbers that it took to receive this degree that in 2 short weeks will be mine...the life behind those numbers is FAR more complicated.
In these 6 years I have held 5 different jobs (yes I counted them)
In these 6 years I have gained and lost so many different pounds (this is harder to keep count of!!!)
In these 6 years I have lived in 4 different states and spent 5 months living in europe.
In these 6 years I found, dated, and married my wonderful husband.
In these 6 years I expanded my family to over double what it was (with the addition of my husbands family)
In these 6 years I have lost 2 of the most important people in my world (my mamaw Ruby and my grandfather "Bear")
In these 6 years I traveled to 24 different countries and have seen the most amazing sights of my life.
In these 6 years I found out I was expecting, was pregnant for 9 months, and gave birth to the most beautiful baby ever.
In these 6 years I became a wife and a mother, the 2 most wonderful roles I will ever have.
So all in all....6 years is WAY too long to take to get a degree, However; I have lived a LOT of life in that amount of time. These 6 years have completely changed everything about who I was, who I am, and who I will become. I wouldn't change anything about my 6 years!
ok maybe I COULD have done it in 4??? Oh well!!!

And in those six years you remained faithful to God and his teachings!! Ben and Aiden are so lucky to have such a grounded Christian Mother and wife. So it took you 6 years to get an education! Big Deal! Just look at what all you have done IN ADDITION to getting that education. Not many could get married, have a baby, AND get an education in 6 years!! We are very proud of you!
That's right! God had a purpose in every single thing you did in those 6 years and because of those experiences, you are the wonderful person you are today.
Fabulous Mother
Faithful Wife
Cherished Daughter
Loyal sister
Treasured Granddaughter
Loved Niece
Trustworthy friend
and highest honor of all
Daughter of the King of Kings!
It DOES feel good to have the sheepskin though!
WHOO! HOO!
We are proud of you. this has been a very hard semester since baby Aiden made his appearance
I can't even begin to tell you how proud we all are of your accomplishments. You are an amazing lady, mom, wife, NIECE, and more. Your journaling skills are awesome. I check your blog everyday, sometimes several times a day, to see if you have talked about your day, week, test, paper, sleepless night, pretty much anything. That's how I feel connected to you guys right now. I just can't wait till you get home to TEXAS. I bought Aiden a swim pant thing and really cute socks today. The socks look like he has on shoes. I was so excited to finally find these. I'll just hold them till you get here. Love you and miss you like crazy!!!!!
Great Job Jenni. So what if it took you 6 years to get your degree, YOU GOT IT!!!
WOW!! Thanks everyone! What wonderful family members I have!:)
Jenni,
That's way more than I have done in the last 6 years! And, just think how tired and stressed you would be if you had tried to cram it all in in 4 years. You may only have 1 degree, but you have way more education than those that did it in 4 years. also, to you mom's list you can add a really great granddaughter-in-law!
Yeah, I mean, you could be in your 40s and still be in school, like some people I know. It could be worse.
