anniversary

Ok so we had for the most part a very wonderful anniversary. The room was awesome!!! You will see in the pictures I swear I took 20 just of the room. It might be the nicest room I had ever stayed in and the bathroom was AWESOME! When we got to the room I was suprised that Ben had arranged for flowers and chocolate covered strawberries to be in the room for me! So wonderful! After we arrived at the hotel we spent some time in the room and then went back out looking around at all the shopping and checking out the hotel. Everything was so amazing it is hard to describe. We got ready and went to this little italian (my fave!) place for dinner. It was out on the strip of the hotel. It was really yummy. Ben and I shared a 4 cheese pizza and pesto pasta...my two most favorite meals! Then when we got back to the room I took a long really awesome bath in the HUGE bath tub in the room while Ben tried to feed the baby. Now to get to the not so awesome part....Aiden was horrible, and I do mean HORRIBLE on this trip. I think he instinctively realized that the trip was not about him and he made sure that it became about him. He wouldn't nap, wouldn't eat and then wouldn't go to sleep in his playpen even though we brought it. So I ended up sleeping with him on me for most of the night and the rest of the night on Ben's chest. Happy anniversary to us!! haha Then the next day we woke up and decided to go hang out by the pool. We got Aiden ready and put his sunscreen on which he HATED and cried and then went into a funk where I swear he was mad at us for an hour. He did not like the pool, he wouldn't smile or play with us at all (which he always does) so that really pooped on our time there. I finally just sat in a lawn chair by the pool and held him and he started to get back to being happy baby but of course then it was time to nap. Later in the afternoon we went to the hard rock cafe for lunch before checking out of the hotel and then heading to the beach to see how we would do there. The beach was very nice, not too hot and not too many people and beautiful water. Aiden still wanted nothing to do with any of it. He was just hot and unhappy. We started to head home about 5 pm last night and Aiden slept the whole way home. Poor little guy was pooped out! So anyways...Ben and I had a great time and the hotel and everything was awesome! We were just a little sad that Aiden was not doing well. It also has made me very nervous about the week we have ahead of us at Padre. I really hope that he will be able to get adjusted and have a good time and be the happy baby that he always is. I am not sure how we will handle the beach and pool situation, he may be staying indoors most of the time but even that is ok with me as long as he stays happy. He is no fun wen he is grumpy baby! You will see in some of the pictures that he is just not a happy camper! Anyways that was our anniversary and it was as wonderful as it could have been given the circumstances however; I think next year we will try to find a babysitter!!!

And just to explain a couple of the pictures so there are no questions...no I did not feed Aiden that strawberry, it looks like it but he is just looking at it. And No we did not gamble while we were there...I wanted to play the slots once because I had never done it and I came up with this great idea that I could play the 5 cent slots with my one dollar and be able to play 20 times!!! But somehow I must have bet my whole dollar on one thing...I dont know how it works, but I only got to play once....and I lost.
