Trailer

Ben and I have been researching how we were going to handle this cross country move we are going to make in less than 2 months. We have gotten quotes from just about every moving company we could think of and had come to the conclusion that to rent the size trailer we would need it was going to cost us around $1000.00 and we would get to use the trailer for 7 days, pick it up here and return it in texas. This was a very steep number and up at least 300 dollars from when we rented the EXACT same trailer to move here 2 years ago. So we came up with the plan to see if we could purchase a trailer for around the same price. We searched craigslist until we found one that was in excellent shape and the size we needed and yesterday Ben went and bought it. We spent the 1000.00 we would have spent to rent a trailer and used it to BUY a trailer. This way we spent the exact same amount of money AND we own something that hopefully we will be able to sell when we get to texas and get at least some or most of our investment back. Here are a few pics of our new trailer!! Never thought I would be the owner of a trailer but hey it works for us and now we have as long as we want to start packing stuff. Yay!!

Now for a tiny little update on Aiden. He is eating BETTER, he just has no rhyme or reason to when he wants to eat or how much. He will eat 6 oz and then an hour later want 5 more then he will go 5 hours and want nothing. I don't get it and I have stopped trying to figure it out. I am letting him call the shots for now. I think he is growing right on schedule, he is 2 days away from being 3 months old and we have put all his newborn clothes away (as of yesterday, they still fit but were kind of snug) and his 0-3 mos still fit best but he CAN wear 3 mos. they are just a little bit too big. I am kind of excited about that though cause it seems like he is going to be right on target with his size and age. Now that I said that he will probably start gaining weight like crazy or something. Haha. Hope everyone has a wonderful father's day tomorrow! And one more pic of my sleeping beauty....

WOW!! I never would have thought of that! BUYING a trailer! Great idea! Then just sell it when you are through. So, when exactly is your target date to crank up and start this way? You have to come up I-49 anyway. We will expect you to make a pit stop in Shreveport. :-)

How in the HECK are you going to fit your life into that trailer.. I can not imagine.. Mattresses, cribs, boxes, etc..?? Are you selling everything before you come? I would keep the trailer. We can pull it to Padre for future trips with Aiden.. He will be bringing a lot of stuff I am sure.

I think that is the most brilliant idea I have ever heard. I would have just paid the $1000 to rent and GRIPED every step of the way but you took it one step further and like that commercial says "Now do something smart" about it.

KUDOS to you.

Look at that precious baby.

the comment from Kimberly above is actually from me. I was signed on as her because I was looking for pictures 2 days ago. I never shut down my computer and guess I have been signed on as her this whole time. :-)

I didn't realize until my post came up as Kimberly.

Sorry.........Kim!
