Aiden is Sick :(
Aiden is sick with his first cold. Last night he was very fussy and kept coughing and acting like he couldn't breathe and then he kept throwing up when I was feeding him. I finally got him down for the night and he woke up a couple times but nothing too bad, this morning he woke up screaming and he couldn't breathe. He was wheezing, coughing, and his nose was running like crazy. Ben has had a cold the past few days but I didn't really think too much about it because Ben has bouts with his allergies fairly often but this time Aiden got the cold. We sat in the bathroom with the shower going and the steam filling the room for about 30 minutes while we waited for ben to run to the store and buy a humidifier. Other than trying to break up the congestion in his chest and nose there is not much we can do. Baby medications are not approved for babies under 2 except for baby tylenol which I will give him when he starts to get fussy again. It's not terribly horrible, it just makes me sad. It is obvious that he has never had to figure out how to breathe through his mouth so his breathing is labored. He isn't acting like he feels terrible though so I am grateful for that. This could not have happened at a more inopportune time though. Today we are headed down to tampa to go to ben' grandmother's 85th birthday party and Aiden will be meeting some of ben's family that neither him or I have ever met. Plus we are meeting up with one of my very best friends (emily anne) who is in tampa on vacation with her mom. Then we are moving in 2 days so this is just a very hectic time and I wish I could just keep Aiden at home and cuddle him and let him rest. Oh well we will have to do what we can.

Poor little Aiden. I know he must look very sad, which, in turn, makes you very sad. It seems these kinds of things always happen at the worst possible times. I will say a prayer that he gets overit quickly so he is not too fussy on you trip to Ft Worth. Keep us posted.
The steam shower was a LIFESAVER for us. It worked better than anything else we did. We would both be drinched when we came out, but it helped with that late night cough. Keep sucking that nose and do the beating on his back.. You are doing great.. AWESOME Mom!
