We Made It!
We FINALLY made it to dallas and mamaw's house! Yesterday might have been the worse day EVER! We thought we just had a short little trip ahead of us. We left Bossier City at 10:30 am and at 11:30 one of the tires on the trailer BLEW OUT! And it completely blew! So bad it damaged the tire guard to the point that it had to be taken off and then we were stuck trying to find a replacement tire in a town we weren't familiar with. We found a place to get the tire but we had to unhook the trailer and leave it on the side of the road so that we could drive there, they didn't have the tire in the store and had to order it from a nearby town and send a guy over there to pick it up. Then our jack and all the tire changing tools were somewhere in the mess of our packing but we had no idea what all we would have to unpack in order to get to it so we had to go to wal-mart and buy the tools. We then went back to the trailer to take the rim off the trailer because the tire shop didn't sell rims and so they had to put the tire on the rim so ben took the tire off the trailer and then we went back to the tire place, got the tire put on the rim and headed back to the trailer to put it on. At this point I still thought this was all ok, yes it was a set back but it wasn't horrible. Well it turned bad pretty fast. The trailer was so heavy that the jack would not get the trailer up high enough to put the new tire on. Ben tried several times to place it at different places to see if he could get the trailer raised enough to get the tire put on. I had to hold try and hold the trailer up as much as possible (with my impressive strength) while he replaced the jack....well a huge semi came by and the trailer fell over. At which point I started crying and thinking we were never gonna get the trailer back up again. Aiden was sitting in the car by himself (with the A/C going) while we were trying to do this and he was crying and it was just bad. We didn't know what we were gonna do. There were some guys on the other side of the interstate in orange vests and outfits who I thought were convicts picking up trash...I later found out they weren't. But ben whistled for them to come over and help him and one guy came over and they tried multiple jacks at the same time. The guys went and got them out of their trucks. And FINALLY after 3 hours...they got the trailer up high enough to put the tire back on and we were able to get back on the road. It was a very stressful situation and I think ben had one of the worse days of his life. We finally got to mamaw's house around 5 pm and then ben got to unpack the car and trailer (with the help of aaron and david, THANK YOU!) so needless to say he was very tired at the end of the day. I have quite the amazing husband! He deserves a few medals or a cake or something for all he has had to do the past few days! Anyways we are now here safe and sound with the MAJORITY of our stuff unpacked. Mamaw might have permanent roommates though cause I am not sure we ever want to move again!!!! I have tons of pics to share...of the packing up, with the family in bossier, moving, etc. but I have not found my camera cord yet so be patient....

Ok - I really SHOULD whip you for not calling me. I may do it yet!!!
You could have called ANY of us and we'd been there to help or do whatever you needed. PLEASE use us!!!! We are family for a reason. But, I'm so glad that you all got here safely. Absolutely can't wait to see you all and finally meet Aiden!! I have "stuff" for him. :)
you both did a remarkable job of handling the situation. I have had trouble before but not with a baby as little as Aiden.
I am so grateful this happened in the daytime and not at night and once again, Ben proves to be quite resourceful. Whistling for guys on the side of the road turned out to be a good move.
Can't wait to see the pictures.
Ummm.. yeah yeah yeah.. Yall are great.. blah blah blah. More importantly, I didn't see my name in the helping unpack the trailer and car section of this post.. I see where I stand!!
Glad you guys are HERE!! Love ya.
