Day 4 in Miami was zoo day! This zoo is HUUUUGE. Anyone going to the miami zoo ever, here's a tip, they have these little bike/ buggies for rent at the entrance and you walk past and think to yourself "man those people are lazy, renting a buggy cause they can't walk around the zoo" Nope nope nope. Those people are SMART. Rent the buggy!!!! It is a loooooong way around that zoo. We walked for 3 hours straight and were only a third of the way around the huge loop of the zoo. Had they rented buggies mid way around we would have been all over it but NOOOO apparently you have to be smart in the beginning.
So other than the pure exhaustion that came with this zoo, it really is a spectacular zoo. Lots of the "normal" zoo animals but then there's a lot of more exotic animals that you don't always see. There is an AWESOME children's area with play areas, carousel, petting zoo, slides, etc. And kids can ride on a real camel in the kids area! About midway through we opted take the "sky train" back to the front so we bailed on the 2nd half of the zoo. Keep in mind we had 2 small kids and it was hot and we walked for 4 hours before admitting defeat. You definitely need either 2 days to do the miami zoo or you need the buggies.
Beautiful flamingos
Aiden playing
These monkeys were soooo active and SO loud!!!
Here we go again...day 4 of big smiles from aiden!

Even hallie was content to be lounging in the stroller for the stroll. At least at first.
Aiden has absolutely no FEAR. He was leaning down talking to these huge birds that were pecking everything in sight and aiden was going "hey birdy, come here!"
The group in front of one of the many waterfalls. Jenny & Alex opted to keep max home on this day and get a little rest time while we did the zoo.
Back to the no fear and the happy kid. He realllllly wanted to ride the camel and he was just barely tall enough but we let him! So excited!
This is when momma started to get really nervous! That is one huge camel and aiden's not looking so big anymore!! EEK!!
He loved it though and returned from his little jaunt intact and happy!
Feeding the goats at the petting zoo
And he wanted to brush them
Even more no fear. He wanted to get on top of this huge boulder in the play area but he was really too small to get up there so ben put him up there. Doesn't look all that scary until....
Give. Me. A. Heart-Attack!!!
Ben wanted to do this for my family. My uncle dale has a thing with the lion king circle of life, mufasa/ simba thing. Ya know it's just kinda hard to explain.
I love this picture of my boys. Standing the exact same way. So cute.
Aiden on an alligator. Happy camper.
On the sky train after we're all very tired.
Miss priss held up as well as she possibly could have but she was ready for her bottle and her nap.

Aiden was happy to be on the sky train.
We're going home baby!

The End. Haha
Playing with daddy on the way out.

We went home and took naps immediately and then just hung around the rent house the rest of he afternoon/ evening. The zoo took a lot out of us.

Playing around the house after naptime
Aiden playing with his cousin max. He was being a helper.

Grammy & Grandpa bought Jenny & Alex a grill as a present so we tested it out that night and David made us all yummmmy steaks.

Grammy & Grandpa let aiden pick out a souvenir at the zoo and what did he choose??? A zoo truck of course!

We had a relaxing night in after our big fun day.
Stay tuned....1 more installment of our miami vacation to come, including hallie's birthday day!

WOW! I am impressed with the Miami Zoo. Love all those great smiles Aiden has. I have to say he is looking a little fearful when Ben is dangling him over the rock :-))
Oh my Goodness! The Miami Zoo rocks. Don't expect to be there anytime soon, but if I go - I am definitely getting one of those buggies! Can't believe Aiden rode a camel. That is just Awesome!
That sure makes the Ft. Worth Zoo look tiny!! Looks like a GREAT time!!! Would love to take your kiddos (and you too) to the zoo here some time!
