Last weekend we took a road trip to Louisiana to celebrate my cousin Jamie's wedding. Jamie married his wife Kim on the beach in Hawaii the SAME DAY Hallie was born! My family was not able to make the trip out to hawaii to see the actual nuptials take place because it was so close to my due date and ended up being THE day. So I'm glad we made the decision not to go but we were sad to miss it.
My aunt and uncle put on a beautiful reception in Bossier this past weekend to celebrate Jamie and Kim with all the family who weren't able to make the trip over. The reception was GREAT. Awesome food, the decor was beautiful, and everyone was festive in their hawaiian gear. Such fun. Plus there was a slideshow playing of all the wedding pictures and we got to see the bride & groom cut their cake and we had all the traditional luau feast foods. It was almost like being there! Or at least as close as a Louisiana luau can make you feel to the actual beaches of hawaii.
I was so proud of my little baby girl who slept pretty much through her entire first road trip (there and back) and she even did ok sleeping in a different place. She didn't make it all the way through the night but she only woke up once at 5. Not too bad at all little miss. Plus once she got home she went right back to her schedule, no problem. While we were in Louisiana though she was hugged and loved on by all her family who doesn't get to see her as often and she was quite the little luau princess. It was a good weekend of being with family. We are so happy for Jamie & Kim and wish them much happiness and love in their marriage!!!
Wonderful party, Kudos to all those who had a hand in putting this shindig together!! A++

I can't believe I don't have Hallie's picture with the wedding couple who share her birthday. My brain must have froze. I'm gonna need that picture!

Such a cute post. Mahalo was a word that I intended to use a lot that night and things got sort of hectic and I forgot all about it. It was used EVERYWHERE we went in Hawaii. Mahalo for posting such a sweet post.
