Monday April 26th Mommy & Me= All things RED!

Let me start this off by introducing our new "mini-series" if you will in mommy & me!!! Aiden has 4 weeks left in "school" and so for the next 4 weeks before we party for the summer, we're going to concentrate on learning our COLORS!!! Now Aiden actually does know colors. He can say all the colors, he just has a hard time putting the word with the color AND his favorite color is blue. Any time you ask him what color anything is he will say "blue"!!! and you can say noooo aiden this pencil is yellow, so what color is this pencil... "BLUE"!!!! Yeah we need to work on it....enter mommy & me!!!

Today's color was RED. We dressed in red and pretty much everything we did all day revolved around the color RED! First we played on several of aiden's toys at the house that were RED.

The RED Wagon
The RED tricycle

And then we ventured out into the neighborhood/ town to see what other RED things we could find!
The stop signs are RED.
Don't worry parents. This stop sign is in our neighborhood right before a dead end. Hardly any street traffic.

Then mommy had a couple of things she needed from the store so we made a quick stop by target, the RED store!!!
Aiden got to ride in a RED cart
Sit in a RED chair and talk on a RED phone
We stopped by a RED barn
And I entitle these 3 pictures "Jen pretends to be a photographer"

And then we went to this neighborhood farm where they grow all these organic fruits and vegetables and have times that they let you pick your own strawberries. So much fun and as we all know...

Strawberries are RED!

Aiden was a master at picking and putting them in his little box but I tried to only let him pick as many as I thought we would actually eat!

Pictures of the fields. This was such a fun activity.
And we also got some new potatoes at the farm because new potatoes are RED!
Aiden got to eat his favorite snack when we got home (gummies) but of course mommy had already made a bag of just RED gummies!

And we made a RED ladybug
And washed and cut all our fresh strawberries for lunch
And aiden had RED strawberries and pb&j with RED jelly for lunch

And for dessert, chocolate covered strawberries on a RED plate
And he got to drink out of a big RED cup

And to top it all off...yes in fact CARS are RED!!!!

So at the end of the day we had played on a red wagon, a red tricycle, seen a red stop sign, a red barn, a red shopping cart, a red phone, a red chair, lots of red strawberries, red potatoes, red gummies, a red ladybug, a red cup, a red plate, and last but not least a red car!!! Not to mention the red clothes we wore. Aiden changed twice because he was dirty. SOOOOO surely we learned the color red!?!

this may be my favorite mommy and me. I think because he is engaging so much more.

I love the pictures of him picking the strawberries. I bet he loved that.

Good lessons on red. So does he know red now?

Well, you need to be a Kindergarten Teacher!! Our kindergarten teachers have units on colors like that at the beginning of the year, but they are not always able to make those quality field trips with each color that you did. Fantastic!!! And, uh, I would say you are becoming quite the photographer. Kimberly made need an associate some day in the future. Cute - Cute post. Now, I am looking forward to all of the other colors.

What a fun way to do these lessons. And, by the way, you ARE a photographer.
